I just thought I’d let everyone know that my article on fibromyagia has just been published by Natural News, one of the biggest news and information sites on natural medicine there is!

I have been a subscriber to Natural News for years, and I really admire the way Mike Adams has put together a huge amount of knowledge on food, herbs, supplements and alternative views.

I hope to write for them a lot more in the future, so keep your eyes open!!

Here it is! http://www.naturalnews.com/023452.html

I have not read Dr. Lowe’s book which costs over $100 in Canada so I am not clear on his specific recommendations on butritional supplements.

We have found that Vitamins, Minnerals and Antioxidants are important but they must be combined with Omega 6 and Omega 3 oils in a 3:1 ratio for the total treatment to be effective.

We can provide more detailed recomendations if you can give us details on your condition.

I hope to shed some more light on fibromyalgia. I enjoyed your article and want to add some insight. I just discovered what I believe to be a major cause of it. Mercury poisoning. I was surprised too but I accidently chelated mercury and made myself very sick using alpha lipoic acid and chorella. It caused the mercury to relocate and is causing me much pain in my muscles. It is interesting to note that mercury causes thyroid and adrenal problems. There is so much information on this on http://www.onibasu.com and in the yahoo groups, adult chelation and Autism-mercury.I encourage anyone experiencing this kind of pain to look into that as possible cause. Certain foods and supplements can make you worse, it may help someone out there. I found this help from one sentence in an unrelated forum, and I am so thankful. A search for the “Andy Cutler protocol” will take you to the information.

Very interesting article on Natural News

I have passed it onto a close friend who lo and behold is being treated by an MD in this very manner for her fibro. I was pleased to hear. Reading it gave her some more info and the reassurance she needed that she is going down the right path.

Thanks and I love your site

Dear Michael,
Thanks for writing! Dr. Lowe has two books, the $100+ one is a wealth of information and an excellent reference for practitioners dealing with fibromyalgia patients.

The other one “Your Guide To Metabolic Health” is much simpler and patient friendly and it does detail treatment protocols including nutritional plans.

You’re obviously doing some great work, keep getting the message out there!

Dear Debra,

Thank you for sharing your information, and you are absolutely spot on with what you have found out about the connection with mercury and thyroid / adrenal disorders, and the dangers of detoxing mercury incorrectly – which as you have found out can cause more problems than it helps.

I have found mercury to be one of the most potent thyroid disrupters and it certainly helps if your practitioner is aware of the connection and can help you to deal with it properly.

Thanks very much for that, and good luck with your own recovery.

Hi Sarah,

Thanks for your positive comments, and I’m glad your friend is being treated by a well-informed doctor.

They are out there and it is wonderful to hear that people are getting the help they need, as this is such a misunderstood area most of the time.

Thanks again! and take care,
