Healing Heart Disease

by Leisa on August 15, 2009

Just recently someone very close to me was diagnosed with heart disease and told very strongly that they were on the path to either a heart attack or bypass surgery in the next few years.

Alongside the shock of the diagnosis, there was also a disbelief that food has been the main culprit in the development of this disorder – when I talked about changing to a whole foods diet the exclaim was “but I eat a normal diet!”

And that, unfortunately, is the problem.

When I pondered this point it was very clear – most people do eat a “normal diet” and one in every two people die of heart disease.  So what does that tell us?  If logic prevails, it shows us that what most people consider “normal” is actually killing us.  It is that straightforward.

Which is why to reverse problems such as heart disease, we need to radically change our diet – because “normal” doesn’t work.  The efforts of people like Joel Fuhrman, Dr. Dean Ornish, Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn, Dr. Matthias Rath and many others have shown that a mainly vegan diet, lifestyle changes and certain supplements can reverse or at the very least, halt the progression of heart disease.

But it does take a change – and it is a big one for most people – to shun what is their “normal diet” and often what they have been eating for the past 50 years.  But good health and longevity are worth the learning curve.

You can download Dr. Rath’s book “Why Animals Don’t Get Heart Attacks, But People Do” for free at the Alliance For Health Freedom Site.  Just go to the E-Book section. Pass it on to anyone you know who has heart disease, as the information in this book could save their life.
