Doing Raw the Wrong Way…

by Leisa on May 3, 2010

Maybe actress Amanda Seyfried needs to take a few tips from model Miranda Kerr!

This story came through on the celebrity news channels and unfortunately she’s got raw food all wrong!  What a shame that raw food is associated with just “spinach and some seeds!”

One of the great things about raw food is the ability to eat really tasty, good quality food, and stay at a healthy weight, unless you over-indulge in lots of raw fats like coconut oil, nuts, nut butters, avocados, cacao butter and raw chocolates every day.

It sounds like she needs to indulge in some raw food recipe books and stop giving the raw food diet a bad name!  I’m sure she’d find something tasty in “Living on Live Food” by Alissa Cohen, or RAWvolution by Matt Amsden or if she’s in a hurry, Alive in 5 by Angela Elliot has some great recipes too!   No need to eat like a rabbit when you have those books in your library.

From ninemsn.com “Mamma Mia! star Amanda Seyfried has painted a dismal picture of the realities of staying thin in Hollywood – confessing she sometimes has meals involving just spinach leaves to keep her weight down.Looking slim and sexy in Esquire, she revealed that her tiny figure is the end result of a miserable existence – namely, a raw food diet she is not enjoying.

“It’s intense,” she told the magazine. “And sort of awful. Yesterday for lunch? Spinach. Just spinach. Spinach and some seeds.”

“If I didn’t run and work out, there’s no way I would be this thin,” she told Glamour magazine in a separate interview.”

Spinach and seeds isn’t a raw food diet – it is just awful.
