Isn’t this the silliest thing you’ve ever heard?
Researchers have found that components in certain fruits such as grapefruit, apples and oranges, can inhibit the uptake of certain drugs through the intestine. “The concern is loss of benefit of medications essential for the treatment of serious medical conditions” it has been stated.
Granted, that may very well be true in one of the drugs mentioned, which was the uptake of a drug which prevents the rejection of new organs in transplant patients, but on the whole, this finding could be seriously abused by the medical establishment.
“Essential for the treatment of serious medical conditions” is a pretty broad statement that could cover all sorts of fake illnesses that are marketed as being medical conditions, such as “high cholesterol”, “ADHD”, “type 2 diabetes” and many others that are usually quite easily resolved with natural medicine.
So the advice will be – don’t drink juice, it will interfere with your medication – when in any number of cases, juice fasting for a period of time would completely resolve the condition! (Freshly juiced organic produce of course, not store bought, bottled, preserved and pasteurised juice).
As usual, the medico’s have got it backwards. No surprise there though.
