Victoria Boutenko Lecture

by Leisa on February 20, 2009

Last night William and I went to the Gold Coast lecture by Victoria and Valya Boutenko.  They have been very prominent in the Raw Food movement for many years and among their many books and DVD’s is Victoria’s book Green For Life which I have mentioned many times on this site and is where the Green Smoothie originated in it’s modern form.

There was a great turn out for this event, (well done Jennie from Raw Pleasure!) and it was such an enjoyable evening.  Victoria was such a good speaker – down to earth, funny, and her natural love for life and for people shone through in the way she spoke.  She has a wonderful sense of humour as she speaks about her and her family’s experiences with raw food, and is humble and generous with what she has learnt.

Victoria does an astounding amount of research and I look forward to hearing the results of her endeavours in that area – especially the experiment she is setting up to evaluate obtaining vitamin B12 in a raw vegan diet – very interesting.

Victoria has done such brilliant work in highlighting the fact that we are all missing out on our greens and by making them palatable in the green smoothie, there is no excuse for anyone to not take on this simple drink as a part of their daily life, and to experience the amazing health benefits that come from that.

If you do get the chance to see Victoria and Valya, I would highly recommend it – and I certainly hope they come back to visit again.

I also attended the Gold Coast lecture -loved it so much I attended it again the next night in Brisbane.
Victoria and her daughter both gave very informative lectures and although I have studied health for over 30 years -I came away having learned so much from this “down to earth” humble Russian lady (complete with Russian accent!!). Bravo Victoria -I am sure you have changed my life!
