Wholefoods Preparation Intensive

Winter Warming Wholefoods
Friday 13th June, 2014 to
Monday 16th June, 2014

The Winter Warming Wholefoods Preparation Intensive is a three night / two-and- a-half day retreat, where you will learn kitchen skills and preparation techniques for creating delicious raw food and whole food recipes. This retreat will have a focus on how to prepare raw foods in winter – with tips on how to overcome the ‘raw winter blues’ and create warming, nourishing winter comfort foods that are incredibly healthy!

Perfect for the home chef or total raw food newbie, you will learn an incredible array of recipes and techniques in a hands-on, training environment, taught by raw food extraordinaire Andrea Brosnan from Really Awesome Wholefoods. There will also be a discussion group with Naturopath Rhianna Smith on the topic of Food As Medicine and an exploration of the nutrition behind the ingredients.

Held in beautiful Byron Bay, you will take part in three x three-hour comprehensive food preparation classes, and two shorter classes over the retreat. It will be completely hands-on – you will be participating in groups of three and will be involved in every stage of the meal creation. You will learn vital skills in food preparation and recipe development. In addition we are taking a farm tour where we visit local spray-free and organic farms, gathering fresh produce to incorporate into the meals, and a bonus fermentation workshop is also a part of this retreat experience. In between these classes you will have time to explore the surroundings and stunning beaches.

Your menu for the weekend is also your course, the premise is that everything you eat and enjoy, you will be learning to create. Recipes and notes provided.
